Middle Woodland

200 BCE–500 CE

The Middle Woodland is dominated by the Hopewell interaction sphere, with geometric earthworks, platform pipes and exotic materials moving across the East. Pottery becomes thinner and decorated with rocker stamping and zoned designs, and Snyders and Lowe points are typical. Most Woodland sites without Hopewell traits also fall here.
