Free to study. Paid to sell.

Everything a student or a buyer touches is free and always will be: the reference, the verifier, the disclosures on every lot. Dealers and serious collectors pay for the tools that earn their keep — and Stratum takes nothing on in-person sales, trades or payment links through your own processor.

The fine print, in plain words

The seller fee includes card processing; there is nothing else. A $12,000 mosasaur jaw sold on the Exchange costs $300, not $720, because the cap is the cap. In person, at a show, over the phone — Stratum charges nothing and Apple charges nothing on Tap to Pay or pay-by-link. Subscriptions are billed by Stripe; cancel any time and the plan runs to the end of the period. The same plans will be available in the iPad app through Apple when the app ships on the App Store.

Students and educators: the Free plan is the plan. Nothing public is behind a paywall — if you ever meet one, that is a bug.
