Early Dynastic
2900–2350 BCE
The Early Dynastic period of Sumer, ED I to III, is the age of city-states such as Ur, Lagash and Kish, the Royal Cemetery of Ur and votive statues with clasped hands. Cuneiform becomes fully developed. It ends with Sargon of Akkad.
