Roman Republic

509–27 BCE

The Roman Republic runs from the expulsion of the kings to Augustus, during which Rome conquered Italy and the Mediterranean. Republican coinage with moneyers' types, black-gloss pottery and early amphorae are the finds. Provincial material outside Italy is rare before the first century BCE.
