Late Antique
300–700 CE
Late Antique covers the late Roman and early Byzantine world from Diocletian to the Arab conquests, overlapping the fall of the West. Crossbow fibulae, folles, African Red Slip ware and early Christian objects are typical. In Britain it merges into the sub-Roman and Anglo-Saxon period.
