Rice Lobed
7500–6500 BCE, Archaic (Eastern)
Rice Lobed was named by Bray in 1956 from the Rice Shelter in Stone County, Missouri, and is the Ozark representative of the Early Archaic bifurcate tradition better known from West Virginia. It occurs through Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois and Kentucky on Burlington and Ozark cherts.

Diagnostic traits
Bifurcated point with broad, shallow side to corner notches, rounded basal lobes separated by a shallow notch, ground haft edges and a serrated triangular blade.
Identification
Rice Lobed has rounder, broader lobes and wider notches than St. Albans and lacks the squared lobes and deep bifurcation of LeCroy. MacCorkle is larger and more deeply notched. Later Rice Contracting Stem lacks the bifurcation entirely.
Reproductions and fakes
Not widely faked; check for basal grinding and Burlington patina.
