Nawthis
900–1300 CE, Fremont
Nawthis Side-notched is a Fremont arrow point of central Utah, named for the Nawthis Village site in Sevier County and dated to about 900–1300 CE. It was made from local cherts and obsidian and is the common Fremont side-notched form alongside Bear River and Uinta. It is inexpensive but a good marker of Fremont occupation.

Diagnostic traits
Small, thin triangular arrow point with a pair of shallow side notches set low on the blade and a straight to slightly convex base that is narrower than the blade.
Identification
Nawthis has notches placed lower and a narrower base than Uinta Side-notched, whose notches sit higher and whose base is wide; Bear River is larger with a flat base. Desert Side-notched is later with a notched or concave base.
Reproductions and fakes
Rarely faked; genuine points show light patina and worn notch edges.
