Huffaker
1000–1500 CE, Plains Village
Huffaker is a multiple-notched Plains Village arrow point of Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and Nebraska, named for the Huffaker site in Oklahoma and dated to about 1000–1500 CE. It is scarcer than Washita and Harrell and is a favorite with collectors because of the extra notches. It is made in the same Alibates, Florence and Edwards cherts as its neighbors.

Diagnostic traits
Small triangular arrow point with two pairs of side notches, one low near the base and one higher on the blade, and a straight or slightly concave base, sometimes with an added basal notch.
Identification
Two pairs of side notches separate Huffaker from Washita and Harrell, which have one pair; Cahokia Side Notched of Illinois can carry multiple notches but is larger, thinner and finely serrated. Toyah of central Texas is smaller with tiny multiple notches.
Reproductions and fakes
Extra notches are sometimes added to genuine Washita points; look for fresh scars confined to the upper notches.
