Bulverde

The Bulverde point is a Middle to Late Archaic stemmed point of Central Texas, about 3,500 to 2,500 BCE, named after a site near San Antonio. It is one of the earliest of the long Texas stemmed sequence. Most are in Edwards chert.

Diagnostic traits
Triangular blade with square, well-defined shoulders and a long straight or slightly contracting stem.
Identification
Bulverde has square, well-defined shoulders and a long, straight or slightly contracting stem with a straight base, unlike Pedernales with its concave bifurcate base and Travis with its narrower, rougher stem. The blade is triangular. It is thicker than Marshall.
Reproductions and fakes
Bulverdes are not commonly faked; the issue is separation from Travis and Nolan. Genuine examples show edge wear and a base that is not ground.
