Andice

The Andice point is a large Middle Archaic basal-notched point of Central Texas and the Southern Plains, about 4,500 to 3,500 BCE, part of the Calf Creek horizon that extends to Oklahoma and Arkansas. Its extraordinarily long, thin barbs are rarely intact. It is a top Texas collectible.

Diagnostic traits
Large, deeply basal-notched point with very long, delicate barbs and a rectangular stem; Calf Creek horizon.
Identification
Andice has a rectangular stem and deep basal notches producing very long, delicate barbs, unlike Bell, which has shorter barbs and a shallower notch, and Eva, which has a shorter stem and blunter barbs. Blade edges are straight. Most are in Edwards chert.
Reproductions and fakes
Andice points are faked and, more commonly, genuine broken examples have barbs restored with epoxy and painted; ultraviolet light reveals restoration. Complete barbs on an unrestored point are exceptional.
