Travis

Travis was named for Travis County, Texas, in the Suhm and Jelks handbook and is a Middle Archaic type of the Edwards Plateau, contemporary with Nolan. It is a plain, functional point on Edwards chert and is common on central Texas burned-rock midden sites.

Diagnostic traits
Narrow stemmed point with weak, sloping shoulders, a straight, parallel-sided stem, a straight base and a thick, often crudely flaked blade.
Identification
Travis lacks the beveled stem of Nolan and is narrower with weaker shoulders than Bulverde. Pedernales has a concave base and a broad stem; Angostura is earlier, ground and obliquely flaked.
