Spinosaurus aegyptiacus

Spinosaurus aegyptiacus is the sail-backed, semi-aquatic theropod of the Kem Kem Group and the most common dinosaur tooth on the market. Its teeth are conical, straight, unserrated and finely striated with a slightly oval cross-section; sizes over 4 inches command premiums. Bone (vertebrae, neural spines, paddle-like foot phalanges) is sold from Taouz; complete jaws offered at shows are nearly always composites.

Restoration and fakes
Root repair, tip fill and enamel touch-up are standard on large Kem Kem teeth; a genuine unrepaired 5-inch tooth is rare. Check the root-crown junction under UV.
