Sigillaria
Seal tree
Sigillaria is the Carboniferous lycopsid tree with leaf scars arranged in vertical columns like rows of seals, found as bark impressions in coal-measure rocks and Mazon Creek concretions. It is less common than Lepidodendron and distinguished by the vertical ribbing. Bark slabs are inexpensive.
