Selenopeltis
Ordovician odontopleurid
Selenopeltis is the large Ordovician odontopleurid of Morocco and Europe with long, sweeping pleural spines and a small pygidium, reaching 15 cm in the Ktaoua and Fezouata beds. Multi-specimen Selenopeltis plates from Morocco are impressive and expensive; they are also targets for spine restoration and for 'improvement' by carving spines into the matrix.
