Crinoid
Scyphocrinites
Moroccan crinoid
Scyphocrinites is the large Late Silurian–Early Devonian crinoid of the Moroccan Anti-Atlas (Erfoud, Alnif) that floated on a bulbous 'lobolith' and sank in colonies, producing the big multi-crown wall slabs sold at Tucson. Genuine Scyphocrinites slabs are impressive and moderately priced; the crowns and arms are commonly enhanced by carving, and some 'slabs' are assembled from pieces set in cement. Ask the seller to show the reverse and the edges.
