Paralejurus

Smooth Devonian trilobite

Paralejurus is a smooth, streamlined Devonian styginid trilobite from the Moroccan Anti-Atlas with a large, effaced pygidium bearing faint ribs. It is common, usually genuine and moderately priced; large specimens from Issoumour make handsome pieces. Its polished look leads some sellers to mislabel it as Scutellum.
