Trilobite
Flexicalymene
Ordovician calymenid
Flexicalymene is the Late Ordovician calymenid of the Cincinnatian and of the Moroccan Ktaoua Formation; F. meeki and F. retrorsa from Ohio are found prone and enrolled in shale and are the classic American beginner's trilobite. Moroccan Flexicalymene ouzregui are sold by the box and are the world's most-faked trilobite: identical cast copies with 'matrix' of the same resin. Genuine Ohio specimens on grey shale are cheap, honest and locally collectible.
