Ceraurus
Ordovician cheirurid
Ceraurus is the Ordovician cheirurid with long genal spines and a pair of stout pygidial spines, found in the Trenton Group of New York and Ontario and the Bobcaygeon Formation. Complete Ceraurus pleurexanthemus from Ontario quarries are prized North American trilobites; most trade specimens are old quarry stock or from private-land field trips.
