Oligocene megatooth shark

Carcharocles (Otodus) angustidens is the Oligocene megatooth shark between O. obliquus and megalodon, with serrated teeth that keep a pair of serrated lateral cusplets. The finest examples come from the Chandler Bridge and Ashley formations around Summerville and Charleston, South Carolina, where diving and creek collecting require a state hobby licence. Teeth over 4 inches are valuable and frequently cusplet-repaired.
