Aspidorhynchus
Needle-nosed fish
Aspidorhynchus is the long, gar-like Solnhofen fish with a pointed rostrum and heavy rhombic scales, reaching 60 cm; it is the fish sometimes found entangled with the pterosaur Rhamphorhynchus. Complete specimens are premium Solnhofen pieces and usually show some preparation fill along the belly.
