What was found

Depression-era excavations recovered Macon Plateau pottery, the moulded clay floor of the Earth Lodge with its bird-shaped platform, Mississippian points, and, in the Lamar phase and Ocmulgee Fields components, later pottery and the 1690s English trading post. The Earth Lodge floor, dated to around 1015, is the oldest preserved council chamber in the Southeast.
