Middle Horizon

600–1000 CE

The Middle Horizon is the period of Wari expansion from Ayacucho and Tiwanaku from the Lake Titicaca basin, spreading tapestry tunics, four-cornered hats and polychrome ceramics across Peru and Bolivia. Roads and administrative centres foreshadow the Inca. The period ends with the collapse of both states.
