La Tène

450–50 BCE

La Tène is the Late Iron Age of temperate Europe, divided into A through D, defined by Celtic art and by fibula and sword typology. Oppida, coinage and wheel-thrown pottery appear in its later phases. It ends with the Roman conquest of Gaul and Britain.
