U-Dig Fossils, on a private claim in the Wheeler Amphitheater west of Delta, Utah, is the best-known pay-to-dig trilobite site in the world: visitors split Wheeler Shale for Elrathia kingii, Asaphiscus and agnostids and keep what they find. It is a reliable, legal source of genuine Cambrian trilobites and a good first field trip. The Antelope Springs name on old labels refers to the same area.

Rules
Pay by the hour or day; hammers and buckets are provided, and every trilobite you split out is yours to keep or sell. The surrounding House Range is BLM land where casual collecting of invertebrates for personal use is allowed but sale is not.
