Lake Texoma

Grayson, Texas, United States

Lake Texoma on the Texas–Oklahoma border exposes Albian Duck Creek and Fort Worth limestones along its shores, where large ribbed Mortoniceras ammonites, oysters and heart urchins wash out in low water. It is a personal-collecting site on federal land, so finds cannot be sold. Whole ammonites over 30 cm are found every year by shoreline walkers.
