Toyah
1200–1600 CE, Toyah
Toyah is a Late Prehistoric arrow point of central and west Texas and the Trans-Pecos, named for Toyah Creek in Reeves County and dated to about 1200–1600 CE. It occurs with Perdiz in the Toyah phase, whose people hunted bison with the bow and made bone-tempered pottery. It is small and easily missed in the field and complete ones are scarce.

Diagnostic traits
Very small, thin triangular arrow point with two or three pairs of tiny side notches and a basal notch, giving a serrated look to the lower edges.
Identification
Toyah is smaller than Huffaker and its notches are shallower and more numerous; Harrell has a single pair of side notches with a basal notch. Perdiz, its companion type, is contracting-stemmed and unnotched.
Reproductions and fakes
Rarely faked because of small size.
