The Steuben point is a Middle to Late Woodland expanded-stem point of the Midwest, about 200 to 600 CE, named after a site in Illinois. It is common on Late Woodland sites in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. Most are in local chert.

Diagnostic traits
Expanded-stem point with a straight base and rounded shoulders; blade edges convex.
Identification
Steuben has an expanded stem, straight base and rounded shoulders with convex blade edges, unlike Lowe, which has a flared base wider than the shoulders, and Bakers Creek, which is longer. It is thicker than Jack's Reef. Size is medium.
Reproductions and fakes
Steuben points are not worth faking and none are known. Identification against Lowe and Chesser is the real challenge.
