Snyders
200 BCE–300 CE, Hopewell
The Snyders point is the classic broad corner-notched blade of the Hopewell Middle Woodland, about 200 BCE to 300 CE, named after a site in Illinois. It was used as a knife and dart point and is frequently in Flint Ridge, Burlington or Cobden chert. Large examples from mound contexts are famous.

Broad, thin, corner-notched blade with a convex base and rounded barbs; classic Hopewell knife form.
Identification
Snyders is broad, thin and corner-notched with a convex base and rounded barbs, unlike Hopewell points, which have a straighter base and expanding stem, and Kirk, which is serrated and earlier. Affinis Snyders is a smaller variety. Manker is similar with a straighter base.
Reproductions and fakes
Snyders points are faked in Flint Ridge and Burlington chert, sometimes to a very high standard; fakes lack the light patina and edge wear of genuine pieces. Restored notches and barbs are also common.
