The Lowe point is a late Middle Woodland flared-stem point of the Midwest, about 100 to 500 CE, named after a site in Illinois. It marks the end of the Hopewell period. Most are in local cherts and modestly made.

Diagnostic traits
Flared-stem point with weak shoulders and a straight, thinned base; base wider than the shoulders on many examples.
Identification
Lowe has a flared stem with weak shoulders and a straight, thinned base that is often wider than the shoulders, unlike Steuben, which has rounded shoulders and a narrower base, and Chesser, which has a longer stem. Blade edges are straight. Size is medium.
Reproductions and fakes
Lowe points are not faked. Confusion with Steuben and Chesser is common, and genuine pieces often show basal thinning flakes.
