The Hopewell point is a corner-notched dart point of the Middle Woodland Ohio and Illinois valleys, about 100 BCE to 400 CE, associated with the Hopewell earthworks. It is smaller and more workaday than Snyders. Flint Ridge flint is common.

Diagnostic traits
Corner-notched with a straight to slightly convex base and an expanding stem; edges frequently serrated.
Identification
Hopewell has corner notches, a straight to slightly convex base and an expanding stem, often with serrated edges, and is narrower than Snyders, which has a convex base and rounded barbs. Lowe is later with a flared stem and weak shoulders. Size is medium.
Reproductions and fakes
Less faked than Snyders; the main problem is misidentification of many Middle Woodland corner-notched forms. Flint Ridge patina is a good sign.
