Alethopteris
Seed-fern foliage
Alethopteris is the robust seed-fern foliage with elongate pinnules attached along their full width and a strong midvein, common at Mazon Creek and St. Clair. It is distinguished from Neuropteris by the broad attachment of the pinnules. Large fronds make fine display pieces.
