Mushroom crinoid
Agaricocrinus americanus is the mushroom-shaped Mississippian crinoid with a domed calyx, found complete in the Fort Payne Formation of Tennessee and Kentucky and the Edwardsville Formation at Crawfordsville, Indiana. Crawfordsville and Fort Payne crinoids are the finest in North America and complete crowns sell for hundreds to thousands. Check that crowns and stems are original and that arms are not sculpted.
