Delphi

Delphi is the sanctuary of Apollo on the slopes of Parnassus where the Pythia delivered oracles from the eighth century BCE until the fourth century CE, with a temple, theatre, stadium and treasuries along the Sacred Way. It is the most important oracle sanctuary of the Greek world.

What was found
The French excavations recovered the bronze Charioteer, the Siphnian Treasury frieze, the Naxian Sphinx, the omphalos, thousands of inscriptions, the chryselephantine fragments from the Sacred Way and the treasuries of the Greek cities. The site museum displays the Charioteer and the Sphinx.
Rules
Nothing may be collected, dug, moved or removed at Delphi; it is a protected archaeological site managed by Hellenic Ministry of Culture, Ephorate of Antiquities of Phocis, and taking artifacts, stones or samples is an offence. Greek law vests all antiquities in the state, and removal or export is a crime. This article is for study and context only and is not a collecting locality.
