Flake scar

The concave negative left on a stone tool where a flake was struck off; each scar has a bulb, ripples and a point of percussion that show which direction the blow came from.

The concave negative left on a stone tool where a flake was struck off; each scar has a bulb, ripples and a point of percussion that show which direction the blow came from. The pattern of scars — random, parallel, collateral, oblique — is what a typology reads.
