ARPA — Glossary — Stratum Strata

The Archaeological Resources Protection Act of 1979, which makes it a federal offence to excavate, remove, sell or transport archaeological resources over 100 years old taken from federal or tribal land without a permit. Its arrowhead exemption covers surface finds only, and its possession exemption covers objects held before 31 October 1979.
